Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

If I buy a house and later add my friend's name to it as shared owner, But my friend has a Goverment judgement against her Will the goverment than put a lein on the house for the amount of the jedgement?

I don't think the lien attached to jointkly owned property . . . by why risk it and why add your friend to the title. With or without the lien issue, that is very rarely a good idea -- particularly if he or she is not paying anything for the property.

The answer depends on what form of ownership you want give to your friend. I agree with Wagner. Don't put a person who has financial problems on the title to your property.
