Deposit refund check

How long does an ex-tenant have to cash a deposit refund check that the landlord paid to them?

As long as the bank will honor the check. Usually 6 months. The fact that the bank will not honor the draft does not extinguish the payment obligation.

Checks must be honored if cashed within 6 months.
