You are liable if your name is on title for negligence and injury. You are not responsible for fire loss or damage, except to the extent that the mortgage requires insurance be maintained AND you don't have it on the property. You should contact the lender and see if they will accept a deed in lieu of any liability and responsibility from you. His filing bankruptcy does not limit his liability for losses sustained while he owns the property still. Seek some legal help with all your paperwork.
