Don't look for a "free" lawyer here!!!! You will only get what you pay for. Eminent Domain is extremely complicated. You want a lawyer that has a practice totally devoted to that arena.

You can call the Florida Bar and they will give you a list of attorneys you can turn to that specialize in the particular field. Or you can go online to the Florida Bar/ Eminent Domain Section for many names.

Many Eminent Domain attorneys will take a case on a contingency basis. Obviously your county will have to pay something to constitutionally "take your property".

Also, you should go to public records and be sure you own the property that will be taken.

For an idea of the complicated nature of the field, note that there are only two actions in Florida that mandate a 12 vs. 6 juror trial: Murder and Eminent Domain.

Your question suggests that you have deadlines to meet. Be sure you meet them.

As Mr. Petersen suggests, an eminent domain attorney will work on a contingency basis. You wont pay until the case resolves. Hire one.
