home purchase while separated

I want to purchase a home, but am not yet divorced. If I have a Legal separation, will that protect my home from my husband having rights to it? The property is in GA but I just moved from FL 4 months ago if that makes a difference.

You need to be careful and don't make a move without an attorney. The papers that have been filed MAY protect your interest in the property. However, even if they don't, they can be modified by the court.
