Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

We are about to move out of a rented condo. Our lease is with the landlord, not the association. The association want a $750 check for an elevator deposit to move out (they say they won't cash it, but I don't trust them). There is nothing in our lease pertaining to this. We didn't have to pay when we moved in. Can they charge this, or can I fight it? Our landlord was foreclosed and I'm basically broke from having to pay 4 x rents this month (first, last and security for the new apartment and 1 month's rent here).

Please help!

See what the condo documents require. Sounds a little fishy to me. I would probabl,y just move after hours -- in the end, though, whether this is a proper charge is covered in the association rules.
