Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Can I pay a referral fee to a non-licensed individual?

I am selling my home in Florida on my own without the help of a real estate agent. Can I offer a $5,000 referral fee to any individual(non-agents) who sends me a prospect that ends up buying my home? I am trying to attract attention from the neighbors and the local community.

No. It is unlawful to pay any sort of commission or referral fee to any non licensed individual. A person must be a licensed real estate salesman/woman/broker in order to receive compensation for referring a buyer.
