Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Rented a house in Jacksonville one month ago (Dec.).House was rented from a realtor with a one year agreement. Now I get a letter from a prison in Fl.from a person claiming to own the house(and evidently does). The letter goes on say that he has fired the realtor and to send all rent to his frends address. My question is do I have a right to ignore the agreement ?.

I'm confused, so I would have to look at the paper to form an opinion. The law sounds on your side, but I cannot be sure without reading the papers.

This is not a reason to get out of your contract. The contract still exists. Contact the realtor to confirm who you should pay.

You still have a contract, and the lease probably states where payments should go. Confirm who you should send the rent to with whoever signed the lease.
