Statute of limitations on liens

Is there a statute of limitations with respect to time on liens? And is there a specific process that one follows to lien a property?

Statute of limitations on liens in Fla.

Yes to both questions. You mention filing a lien against property, but you do not describe the type of lien. If it is lien for work done on the property or supplies used in developing the property, then the procedure is described in chapter 713 of the Fla. Statutes. If, however, it is a judgment lien, then the procedure is described in chapter 55 of the Florida Statutes.

It is difficult to answer your question without more information. I hope this information helps you.

Process for enforcing liens

Yes, there are specific statutory provisions detailingtime limits and procedures for enforcing liens. It is very important in this area to dot your i'sand cross your t's. There is a case where anattorney was found to have committed malpracticeby giving person a copy of a statute. This is definitely an area where you need to consult withan attorney about the specifics of your case.
