Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

tax on sale of property

I have a property in the UK which I have owned since 1991. I moved to the US in 1998 on a work transfer that ultimately resulted in me getting a green card last year (I have owned a home in the US for 7 years). My brother has been looking after the house for me in the UK but now I am thinking of selling it and was wondering what the tax implications would be.

Re: tax on sale of property

There may be a taxable gain, for which you will likely want to consult the US/UK tax treaty.
