Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Usufruct in Florida

Hello,

According to Florida Law, is it possible for my sister to buy a house in her name and place it in residential usufruct (lifetime) for me?

How to go about it? Or, if the feasibility of this choice is inexistent, what is the best alternative, tax-wise and cost-wise?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Re: Usufruct in Florida

The use of a life estate is legal in Florida. Whether it is right for you can be determined after a consultation wherein I would be endowed with sufficient information to provide a meaningful reply.
