Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Florida

mediation/labor/sexual harassment

I have received a determination of cause (adverse inference cause) in a sexual harassment claim against my former employer. I'm representing myself for mediation in April. How to best mediate?

Re: mediation/labor/sexual harassment

There is an old saying: Anyone who represents him or herself has a fool for a client.

Having said that, your question involves a very detailed answer which cannot be accoplished here. However, he is a very limited outline:

1. know the law

2. be prepared to state your case clearly and back it up with facts.

3. be prepared to present a demand to settle, but be flexible.

4. listen carefully to the other side. Be prepared to refute their aguements.

5. listen even more carefully to the mediator. the mediator is neutral and should give you a good sense of your case by what he or she says.

6. If you have a good claim, the other side may not recognize it or take it seriously if you do not have an attorney.

good luck.
