Legal Question in Tax Law in Florida

Researching Businesses

My boyfriend and his mother own a local business. Recently, I found out that they are incorporated, through a printed w2 from the IRS. I am still with him, and he has never given me a w2 from 2007. How can I research their incorporated name? They paid me in cash, and then they filed a w-2 and they did not take out any federal taxes. I worked there for about 2 months, and there is no time clock, and I made tips. Also, can they be reported anonymously to the IRS, or would they know that I did it. On a w2, they are supposed to deduct FICA taxes, and match them, and now I know that they are not doing it. I awakened from a dead sleep, and figured out that this w2 was from their business, as there is no address listed with the IRS, for them to print it on the w2 form.

Re: Researching Businesses

Normally a w-2 is sent to you by your employer, not the IRS. Unless you received a letter or written notice of some kind from the IRS with the w-2, it was probably sent by your employer. The employer's name should be on the w-2. You can check with the secretary of state website, www.sunbiz.org, if you have the corporation's name or under your boyfriend's or his mother's name as well. As to the rest of your questions, they are better answered in an office or telephone conference because they are fact driven issues that require detailed analysis.
