Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

disabled parking

I take my grandmother every where due to her not having a vehicle. Her disabled parking sticker stays in our car b/c she's always with us and we use it. Well I work a grave yard shift and I dont feel completely safe (due to past experiences) so I park in one of the disabled parking spots that is closest to the door so that if anything happens I can get to my vehicle as soon as possible. Should my boss make me move or should I get a ticket for this?

Yes, you should get a ticket and also should be forced to move your vehicle. You do not have the right to park your car in a disabled spot if you are not disabled. The purpose of the handicapped placard is not to make someone safe but to provide an accomodation to handicapped persons who are physically unable to walk long distances or need the extra space in order to allow a wheelchair or motorized chair to load or unload from their vehicle. Your abuse of your grandmother's placard is not acceptable and if a policeman/woman views you using it, you will be punished severely. No matter how you spin your tale, you do not have the right to use the placard for your own use.
