Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Error on DL Exp. Date

I've been issued a speeding citation for driving 57 in a 45 zone.

My case; I wasn't speeding. It was 9:50 pm (Waldo, Alachua County), drizzling rain, 3 cars in group. the officer seemed to be very nervous leading into making an error on my citation.

Instead of writing year 2011 for the year of expiration on my license her wrote 2008.

Would this be a case for dismissal?

Cheers,

Joel

Generally, a minor error such as you listed is not grounds for dismissing the ticket. Courts will generally allow the officer to correct the ticket orally in court.
