Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Hit and Run

I loss control of my car and hit a tree on city land. I left my car there to deal with it later. The police found it and tow it.It has been two months and now I have to go and make a statement for the police report for them to close it out. Can they arrest me when I go and make the statement?

Re: Hit and Run

They may.

they could charge you with Leaving the Scene of an accident with either property damage or personal injuries.

If only the property was damaged then it would be a misdemeanor, if there were any injuries (even your own) then the crime is a 3rd degree felony.

I would need to know more info to advise you further.

feel free to call me, we may be able to do some things that would resolve this case before charges are formally filed.
