Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Judgment

I live in Florida was in an a minor car accident over 10 years ago, I was at fault. I moved to California and had California license all these years. I was recently informed of this judgement. When I contacted the Law office who held the judgement they for months could not locate the file. Today they finally told me I owe 1700 based on another defendants payment who was part of the accident. I dont remember anyone else in this accident. I find it strange she could not find the file yet manage to come up with a fee. She then threatened me to add the interest if I could not pay that otherwise. Is this right? What shall I do. What are my options? Should I hire another attorney to litigate this matter for me?

Its really impossible to properly advise you without futher reviewing the facts and details of your prior accident and the judgment's current status. You should certainly seek the advice of an attorney in your area. I only handle personal injury law...but would be happy to refer you to a colleague. Let me know. I can be reached at [email protected] or 800-379-TEAM.

Good luck to you.
