Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I have a pre trial mediation set for 1pm tomorrow afternoon. This is for a simple non-moving violation of which is only $116.00. My question is can I just go into the clerks office at 8am when the courthouse opens & plead guilty/just pay the fine & not have to attend the pre trial hearing/mediation?

I guess to answer your question, one would need more information. Mediations are not set for traffic matters. In fact a "pretrial" would be rare. Do you mean arraignment? Do you mean the actual hearing? If it is neither of those, then it MIGHT be possible to pay it early. However, it sounds like it was set for some sort of hearing which would require your appearance. Alternatively, you can also hire an attorney who can appear on your behalf which would mean that in most cases, you won't have to go to court at all. At this late stage, that may be difficult but it is an option.
