Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

I had an aunt who lived in Miami up until 7/24/08. Her only living relatives were her brother (my dad), my mom, brother and myself who reside in Los Angeles CA. In the last few years of her life, my aunt had a roommate who resided in my aunts apt. It was only when I called about 1 month after her passing that I found out that my aunt had died. This woman said that my aunt requested that she not inform my dad of her impending passing. I found that unusual but since they were not particularly close, I took it as truth. I recently ordered a copy of my aunts death certificate to discover the circumstances of her death. Now my aunt had no will but upon looking at the certificate, I see that this woman passed herself on as her grandaughter. Could she have falsely tapped into my aunts money upon passing? She even spelled my grandmother's maiden name wrong. Forget the money..I would like to have her convicted of falsifying documents! As a result of what I know now, I know longer believe that my aunt did want her true family notified of her passing. What can I do. All I have is her name.

Do you know of any accounts that your aunt had - who the beneficiary(s) were? I suggest you contact the police depart and file a report for falsifying documents, possible thief and whatever else they may suggest.

Possibly. I would also recommend you report it to the police.
