Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

distribution of assects

My father in law just lost his mother a few weeks ago. His sister is the executer of her estate. She is being very secretive with concerns about distributions. I asked my father in law when he would be attending the ''reading of the will'', his sister is hesitant is resisting doing this stating '' Mothers wishes were as I have stated''. I doubt there is much distribution here but her desire to keep things secretive are a bit suspiscious. I would think a reading of the will, or if there is no will the execution of his fathers will would set precedence in this case. Can you offer any adice?

Re: distribution of assects

Just get a copy of the will. The law requires one in possession of a will to file it at the courthouse. Probate division. If it is not filed, ask the attorney for a copy. There need not be a "reading" of the will.
