Contest of will

FACTS: Father passed away and left me one doller.

Q. Can I legally contest this will?

A. Any will can be contested if you have the money to do it and the grounds to support you contest. Was there undue influence in making the will? Was your father incompetent at the time? What were the circumstances surronding the execution of the will?

No one has to leave anything to anyone [except a spouce or child born after the deceased died and the will was made.] Your father could have disinherited you or just not mentioned you in his will.

You could just NOT ACCEPT the $1.00. Don't cash the check. Don't sign a receipt. Refuse to waive an accounting. Contest the fees paid to the Personal Representative and the attorney. You can make it more costly and time consuming for the other beneficiaries if you are that type of person.

On the other hand, you could co-operate and put this behind you for your living relatives sake. Then go to the grave and relieve yourself of any pent-up pressure you feel.
