Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

estranged spouse

In the state of Florida; if there is an estranged spouse of 3, nearly 4 years of a decedent and they are separated in all ways financially, emotionally, geographically plus at the time of separation (which occurred in GA) the spouse was paid half of the house sale, 75% of the home furnishings and a vehicle (advance on inheritance?) .... is there any way to stop them from taking half of everything? Decedent consulted a divorce atty but didn't follow through because he was expecting an 80% decrease in VA disability and didn't want alimony ordered until it was no longer the existing 100%.
