In accordance to Alabama law. Real Estate going through probate has the jurisdiction of the State where the property is, not the State of the decedent.

So you need to consult an Alabama Probate Attorney. You should have available all documents related to the realty, including how your wife purchased the 1/6 interest. You will need a death certificate and a list of all of her children (with addresses and phone numbers).

From that you should get your answers.
