Self written wills in Florida
I have read that a self written will, even if it is notorized is not legal is this correct. Does a lawyer have to prepare it.
Thanks,
Re: Self written wills in Florida
A lawyer does not have to prepare your will but I would suggest that you have a lawyer handle this for you. A lawyer would know the legal requirements of their state when preparing the will. In Florida, the execution of will must follow a certain procedure which includes witnesses and a notary. Furthermore, the will should be personalized for your situation to cover your needs and wants. Wills are not costly so I suggest that you have a will drafted. It will only help your loved ones later.
