Regrettably, your employer can lay you off while you are on workers' compensation. However, so long as you have medical restrictions and look for a job within those restricitions, workers' compensation would have to pay you wage loss benefits for up to 104 weeks total. If you are unable to return to work ever (RSD is a pretty serious diagnosis), you attorney can petition for permanent total disiability. You need to find an attorney who specializes in workers' compensation benefits to look out for your interests.
