maximum compensation (weeks total)

How many weeks total can one receive worker's compensation benefits and where in the statute may I locate this week number? Is is 104?

Yes if you do not qualify for PTD (Permanent Total Disability) then you get two years worth of benefits (52 weeks x 2 years= 104 weeks). If you are on no work status (TTD) then the statute you are looking for is 440.15(2)(a). If you are on light duty status (TPD) then you are looking for 440.15(4)(e). Of course this is just a general answer to your question and if you reach MMI prior to the 104 weeks you would not be entitled to additional indemnity but I would need more facts to address same and think the above is the general answer you are looking for.

For accidents that happened after 10/1/2003 the max. number of weeks of temporary disability is 104. This total must also include temporary disability paid of retraining purposes. The statute number is 440.15
