Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Someone stole my company's identity and was working with it. They were stopped by the W/Comp division, long story short I was fined even though I showed proof I was not working. My question is can the state take my home from me?? I've not been able to work and have very little resources. I know they could put a lean on my home, but could they actually take it from us? Please let me know.

Your question is confusing. You state someone stole your company's identity. Legally a company implies an entity other than an individual person. You then state you were fined. Your company or you individually? Since neither you nor your company was doing the work why did you not fight the fine? Fine imposed on your or your company? Both? If your home is owned by you individually and the fine is against the company then it wont apply. If you home is your homestead, you can assert that protection should the State try to levy on it. As long as the home remains homestead it is protected from any forced sale. That said, seek legal help to clarify all your issues along with your paperwork.
