Legal Question in Disability Law in Georgia

discrimination

I was contacted today by a secretary of a pain management doctor that I am scheduled to see on 1/30/08 and informed that the doctor had cancelled my appointment due to her decsion after reading my medical charts and notes from previous doctors that she would be unable to help me. Over the last 4+ years I have seen no less than 25 doctors to diagnosis my ailness with no sucess. The last 3 specialist I saw (2 surgeons, 1 gastroenterologist) collectively informed me that pain management was my only option. Is it legal for this doctor to turn me away without first meeting with me in some fashion in order to get all of the information required?

Re: discrimination

If a doctor does not believe that she can offer beneficial treatment to you, you might be well advised to accept that determination. It is very possible that another pain management physician will see things differently; therefore, you should not be discouraged from consulting with other pain management physicians.
