Legal Question in Disability Law in Georgia

school + bipolar

My wife is a teacher and has bipolar disorder diagnosed for 6 years. She has asked to be placed in a positive classroom environment, but was told by her principal she would be moved to In School Suspension. She is afraid this will be more stressful and cause more depression. Can she use the ADA to request a better class assignment, she has taught the gifted classes before.

Re: school + bipolar

If the ADA is implicated, she will need to prove it. If her disorder means that she is a danger to students, however, she may find herself out of luck, so contact a local attorney to make sure you follow the proper steps.
