Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Georgia

I live in GA now, and i want to get something expunged off my record, but clerk told me I have to come back to LA to do it, or hire a lawyer to file papers, why can't I do it myself. I don't have the time nor the money to travel back and forth, even the fingerprints can be sent electronically between law enforcement agencies. Please tell me what I need to do to get this done..... Thank you

Are you asking about a conviction in CA? If so, you need to consult with CA lawyers and not Georgia lawyers.

By posting with a Georgia address only Georgia lawyers see this question. You need to post using an address in the other state if you want answers. But you already know the answer. You apparently have to go there and walk it through, or hire a lawyer to do your legwork. Courts simply aren't going to change their process to fit your needs.
