Oldest scam in the book. Get rid of your "boyfriend" and never see him again and instead call police and the FBI to report him. If you do it, the way the scam works, the checks bounce, he disappears with your $19,000 and you and your daughter each owe the bank $9000 for an overdrafted account.

If he were a real boyfriend with real $19,000 he'd use his ownbank account and simply buy the stock himself.

There is one other possibility even worse - he's a money launderer or drug dealer, and since most under $10,000 transactions aren't reporting, he's laundering cash. In this "scam" you may not lose money, but you spend a few years in federal prison.
