My husband and I were considering filing bankruptcy. I have a car that my dad helped me to get over a year ago. The car has my name on it and my dads name on it. If I file bankruptcy will this affect my dads credit?

A Chapter 13 bankruptcy will generally protect a cosigner being sued, harrassed, etc. It will not protect his/her credit rating. If you file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the debt must be reaffirmed and payment continued or the lender will look to the cosigner for payment.
