Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

Hello my name is Kim and I filed a Chap 7 on July 27th, 2011 and I went to court on Aug 29th, 2011 and tonight I received a letter from my car finance people stating that they want a Motion for relief from stay....I'm not understanding this since their lawyer was there @ the hearing and asked me if I wanted the car & I said no. He stated that they would be there to pick up the car in a few wks and it's not 10-5-11 and they still have not come to pick it up. Does this mean that they can come after me & garnish my wages?

Thanks

Kim

Your question tells me that you filed pro se. BIG mistake. That is rather like doing brain surgery on yourself. You need a lawyer and you should have done that before filing. Even at this late date, see a lawyer to be sure everything is okay.

The motion is usually necessary for them to take and sell the car.

Congrats. You filed a Chp 7 pro se!

Motion for relief from stay...and now you're confused.

I'm confused as well. As to why you don't have an attorney. Most will file a Chp7 relatively cheaply.
