Contract Payout vs Right to Hire

I was signed on as a contract (two contracts) and hourly employee. I completed one contract and was paid out on it. I received all the compensation for my hourly work. I worked for them for two months in planning, prep, and execution of my job. My boss went to Israel for two to three weeks. During that absence, one of the campers nearly drown in the pool (I confirmed that through a recount of symptoms to a doctor) and I was the boss over the pool. I lost my temper and chewed out the kid and the other two guards. In hindsight not the best choice, but at the same time, the reason the kid got fired in the end was for his attitude not for his lack of skill; I was ready to re-teach him that. Well the office manager (the interim for my actual and only boss) didn't like how I handled it etc. She and the secretary (both of whom don't like me...mostly because I'm of a different faith group, and because I'm a stickler for rules) trumped up false complaints against me. My only wrong was in how I handled the boy. They claimed stuff that wasn't possible due to my schedule...(eg I made a kid do pushups when I hadn't worked with kids for 3 wks). All of this to say, they fired me through shady politics, and I want the rest of my money.
