Re: underage dating

Regardless of what the law says, you need to take a step back from your personal situation and honestly examine the possible realities of your circumstances. The life experiences of a 17 yr old as compared to a 21 yr old are radically different; therefore, many 21 yr olds who do not date individuals who have been out of high school for at least a year are often doing so for unhealthy reasons. Often the 17 yr. old will be the individual who is negatively affected by the impact of the relationship. Moreover, you should consider whether you are feeding your ego (that an older guy is interested in you). What makes you feel good now, may end up causing you a loss of self esteem if the relationship ends badly.
