dying

if a person was told that they have a deadly virus like hiv can they make the decesion not to receive treatment and go ahead and die?

or can the family make them seek medical care?

please respond asap!

An adult who is of sound mind has the right to determine what medical treatment s/he will or will not receive. If the mental competency is not an issue, family members are not legally empowered to overrule the decision to forgoe medical treatment just because they disagree with it.
