Legal Question in Construction Law in Georgia

What Actions can be taken?

Where I have a small business - Construction Contrator, which started work was paid an initial $3K and now refuses to complete the work. What Actions are at my disposal in order to address this issue. It is my belief that he has only delivered about $1500 worth of work but still has a total of $3K. Also the work performed has some serious code violations and safety hazards.

Re: What Actions can be taken?

Depending on the terms of your agreement, you would potentially have a breach of contract claim. Considering the small amounts involved, it would probably be best to file in magistrate (small claims) court where the company is located.
