Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

I recently bought a vehicle from a used car lot with a warranty less than 30 days ago in Georgia. We just drove to North Carolina for Thanksgiving and the transmission went out there. The dealership's owner is insisting that they are only responsible to fix the vehicle if we get it to them and that they are not responsible for any towing or if anyone here fixes it. We ended up having to leave the vehicle there as a tow to Georgia is too costly. The owner of the dealership said it was our fault for driving it to North Carolina. We have had the vehicle for less than 30 days and saw no reason why we couldn't make the 3 hour drive to North Carolina. The warranty does state they will cover all repairs if done in their shop, but it says nothing about not towing it to the shop.

Unless your warranty includes towing, you pay for that. Warranties mean what they say and no more. That's why people buy auto club memberships. Absent that, you'll need to pay for the tow. If you ask nicely, the dealer might chip in, but they don't have to.

It may have not been your "fault" you drove out of state, but it was your risk and responsibility if the warranty did not cover towing. Certainly, your decision on where to drive the vehicle was not the dealer's decision and it is safe to say you won't find many used car dealers who will include open ended towing in a warranty.
