Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

Suing a small business

Can I sue a self storage business for negligence after a burglary? I found out afterwards there were 7 burglaries before and 1 after. The owners have done nothing to secure their facility.

Consult with a local attorney. Your rental contract may or may not provide that they are not liable. If you conclude they were at fault for lax security, you can sue them in small claims court if the value of your property does not exceed 15,000.00

The depends on any contract you signed, and other facts (such as, where is the negligence?). If one chooses a facility that has little or no security, rather than going down the street and paying more for a facility that has fences, alarms, security personnel, etc., then they get what they paid for.
