Elderly in Care Homes
My mother is 73 years old. She receives Social Security and Disability. (Total $700 month) We are trying to get her placed in a good assisted living home (in Georgia) but she is worried about debts she owes now. Her income is not enough to pay her debts and the cost of the care home. After the cost of the home, she is left with about $90 per month. I have been told that a resident of such a home can not be sued over debts. Is this true?
