Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

My mother makes $245.00 a month and is being sued and threatened for numerous medical bils. She tried to file bankrupsy but was told that she was "to poor" to file. She has applied for disability but has not been accepted. What can she do?

There is no such thing as being too poor to file bankruptcy. She may want to talk to another lawyer.

I don't know the source of your mother's earnings. If she owns nothing and does not work, then creditors can sue all day long but they are not going to get anything.

If your mother only makes $245, does she get any type of medicaid? If not, why not if she only earns $245 a month?

I think your mother not only has to see a bankruptcy lawyer but she may want to have her case reviewed by a Social Secuirty lawyer as well. People get denied for disability on the first go try. The next step though is to get a lawyer and try again.
