Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Can I sale a car that has been parked on my property.

Hi I own about 3 acres of land in GA and I rented space on my land to a truck driver so that he could park his rig, this has been about 1 year ago he paid on time for the first 3 months and then he stopped paying all together. He parked a car on the lot that he was renting from me and I have tried to contact him so that he can pay me for leaving the car there. I have contacted him once and he said he would come and pay me. I dont think that the car is in working condition but can I sale it to get my back rent. If so what process do I need to take?

The process that you need to follow involves proving that the car's owner owes you money and then obtaining the right to sell his property to satisfy the debt. All these steps need to be handled in court. An attorney needs to be involved to make sure that you can not be charged with theft of someone's property.

The above information is offered as a courtesy and does not establish an attorney-client relationship.
