Spouse Delinquent Credit

If the spouse is not on the House Deed, can a LEIN be placed on the house if the spouse does not pay the bill and a judgement is made against the spouse

The exception would be if one transferred title to the house to a spouse (or friend or other family member) just to avoid the debt or lien. Then both parties would be subject to a lawsuit to set aside the transfer.
