Being Sued for 10 yr old Credit card debt

Can I be sued for a 10 year or older credit card debt that has apparently been sold to a collector?

Anyone can sue. However, there may be limitations issues. Moreover, whenever a consumer faces a debt collector, the first thing he or she should think about is a counterclaim. Most consumers don't know their rights. Debt collectors cannot say or do anything to collect a debt. Therefore, the first thing you should do is to find an attorney who specializes in consumer law (representing debtors, not creditors) to formulate a strategy to resolve your problem and possibly get you money that you are entitled to under the law.
