Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

I was arrested for surveillance-unlawful, which is a felony charge. I have never been arrested or in trouble for anything, except a speeding ticket about 25 years ago. My question is, will I have to serve jail time or just probation under the first offender act. I have only had an arraignment to date, but have "pre-trial", "calendar call" and trial left to attend. What is the quickest way to end this horrible time in my life so I can get back to my family and career?

You're facing prison and a criminal record for life. You have already, in not having a lawyer at arraignment, made the mistake of your life. Don't make that mistake into a disaster. In the morning, retain your lawyer.

To change your question a little, the quickest way to continue the horrible time in your life, risk never getting back to your family and career for years (if ever), and going to prison for years, don't treat this seriously and do things like post on the internet for advice. Otherwise, if this is important to you, you'll be sitting in the office of the best criminal lawyer you can find as soon as you can get in.

I expect that you need an attorney. See website for info on retaining the right attorney: http://www.lawrencelewispc.com/pages.php?go=pinfo&PID=38

OR you can represent yourself, in which case you should review website in preparation for each court date: http://www.lawrencelewispc.com/pages.php?go=plist&catid=6

Good luck
