Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My friend is arrested for rape..at his preliminary hearing they added false imprisonment, & sodomy to his charges. he had another hearing after the preliminary hearing and they didn't indict the case they reset it and he appeared in court again and no indictment occurred. he is reset for next mont. i wanted to know is this a good thing that the grand jury haven't indited him yet after 3 appearances?? what could be going on?

It would be somewhat unusual to have an indictment so early in a case. These are matters your friend needs to discuss with his attorney. Most felony defendants have several early hearings addressing probable cause, bond, counsel and other initial issues.
