Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

In lagrange, georgia back in 2003-04 i was arrested for a Domestic Violence call made by my wife which required a "72 hour cool off period" before bailing out. a couple months later we went to court were my wife dropped all charges but the State DA took over and pressed charges against me for Battery under family Violence. The judge dismissed the case stating tht there is no evidence proving the fact, nor any witnesses stating that the above actually happened. The case was dismissed but here recently when applying for a new job, even though there were no convictions, the arrest showed up on my back ground check which hindered me from getting the position. is there anyway i can get it taken off my record or something i can have done were this won't happen again?

You have to request an expungement. Start with the sheriff's office in that county.
