prescription fraud

what kind of punishment would one get for forging prescriptions for schedule 2 drug? There is probably 30 presciiptions written oveer 1 year and pt has not been charged yet but is aware the doctors office knows and had turned in documents to Magistrarte court should they go ahead and talk with DA or law enforcement? no other criminal history and person is disable with chronic pain 95% of day. what would you recommend?

I would recommend that you seek counsel and take active steps to resolve this matter. it is a fair bet that the defendant in this case is looking at losing their pharmacist's license as well as spending some time in prison.

Violations of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act are generally felonies, and as such the statute of limitation is four years.
