I recevied a advertisement from an attorney in Marietta Ga regarding an arrest warrent issued for an individual who does not reside at my address. The person has been ill and was unable to pay child support for two months. His ex-wife file a charge for child abandonment.(in state(M) in Cobb county ga. The magistrate court judge issued an arrest warrent. How can he get the warrarnt dismissed and how can he get the issue transferred to superior court?

Child abandonment is not heard in superior court in most counties.

It sounds like your friend is a fugitive and that makes things worse. He should immediately hire counsel and arrange to turn himself in.

The limited circumstances under which he can get the warrant dismissed are known by only a few attorneys, and will probably not be divulged without a large retainer. For all intents and purposes, he cannot get the warrant dismissed. What issue is he trying to get transferred to Superior Court? The issue of abandonment? Why would you try and get a misdemeanor abandonment transferred to a felony courtroom? I believe there is a felony abandonment for fathers that flee the state, but why would you be looking for more punishment? You are leavign something out.
