The sheriff has visited my home three times, I am currenty not in town. He just stated that ther were papers he needed me to sign. He said a court date is coming up and that i needed to know about it. I called the clerk to try to get info and she stated that she did not have any information under my name. Why cant the sheriff just leave the papers with my family . I am unable to leave from where I am right now.

It sounds like yopu have either been sued or are wanted as a criminal. You need to get a lawyer ASAP and determine what to do.
